Invisalign® Clear Teeth Straightening in Elk Grove and Davis

showing invisalign

Using Invisalign clear teeth straightening aligners, Dr. Chantry can straighten teeth without the need for metal wires or brackets.

Straight, Beautiful Teeth without Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces can be uncomfortable, limit what you can eat and interfere with your professional or social life. The Invisalign teeth straightening system uses a series of nearly invisible clear plastic aligners that fit comfortably over your teeth, eliminating the need for traditional wires and brackets for many patients.

Invisalign clear aligners are an excellent teeth straightening option for individuals whose situation is not too severe and who would rather not use metal braces. Dr. Chantry is a certified Invisalign provider and has many years of experience providing excellent results for both teen and adult patients.

Advantages of Invisalign

  • Invisalign aligners are practically invisible—People see your natural smile instead of awkward-looking metal braces.
  • Invisalign aligners fit comfortably in your mouth—The aligners fit smoothly around your teeth and there are no brackets or wires that can cause irritation.
  • Invisalign aligners can be removed easily—You can remove the aligners to eat, clean your teeth or for special occasions.
  • Invisalign aligners have no dietary restrictions—Since you can remove your aligners at any time, you will be able to eat anything you want.
  • Invisalign aligners require fewer dental visits—Instead of appointments every two to four weeks as with metal braces, Invisalign patients only need to see the dentist about once every six weeks.

How Invisalign Works

During your initial exam and consultation, Dr. Chantry will determine if you are a candidate for the treatment. He will explain the entire procedure in detail, and will answer all of your questions.

Planning your treatment

Dr. Chantry will take photographs, X-rays and impressions of your teeth. These will all be sent over to the Invisalign technical staff, who will work with the doctor to create a precise digital treatment plan. Once they have completed the plan, Dr. Chantry will show you an animation of how your teeth will shift at each phase of the procedure, and he will give you an estimate of how long your treatment will take.

Comfortable custom aligners

Your Invisalign clear aligners will be custom-made out of a high-quality, medical-grade polymer (plastic).

Invisalign will fabricate a series of custom clear aligners to wear for straightening your teeth. The aligners will fit snugly and comfortably over your teeth and are made out of a smooth, BPA-free medical grade polymer (plastic). Wearing them causes no irritation of your gums or cheeks, as often happens with metal brackets and wires.

Gradually straightening your teeth

You will wear an aligner for about two weeks before you replace it with the next one in the series. Each aligner is uniquely fabricated with exact specifications to gradually and gently shift your teeth into a new position, with each successive aligner bringing them a bit closer to the final result.

You will return to see Dr. Chantry about every six weeks for a checkup appointment so he can ensure your treatment is progressing as it should. The time necessary to complete treatment and achieve a beautiful new smile varies according to the specific situation of the patient, but the average treatment time is about one year.

Complimentary teeth whitening at the end of treatment

Dr. Chantry will provide you with complimentary teeth whitening at the end of your Invisalign treatment. You will be given professional-grade whitening gel to use in combination with your last set of Invisalign aligners, so that you can conveniently whiten your teeth at home.

PROPEL® Accelerated Orthodontics Technology to Speed Up Correction

Dr. Chantry provides the option of a breakthrough supplemental treatment that can help Invisalign patients nearly double their speed of correction. Known as PROPEL orthodontics, this fast and minimally invasive treatment requires only a local anesthetic, takes only a few minutes, involves no surgery and creates little to no discomfort during or after the procedure. There is zero recovery time and you are able to return to your normal activities immediately.

Dr. Chantry uses a small handheld instrument to gently make a few tiny perforations in the jawbone around your teeth. This stimulates a natural healing response that greatly reduces bone resistance to tooth movement.

Your aligner trays will achieve their results much faster. Dr. Chantry can let you know if you are a candidate for the procedure after a comprehensive exam.

Invisalign Express for Quick Correction of Minor Misalignment

For small corrections, Dr. Chantry can provide Invisalign Express, an affordable, rapid and convenient way to fix minor orthodontic issues such as very mild crowding or spacing.

Regular Invisalign treatment uses between 20 and 30 aligners to move your teeth into their final positions. With Invisalign Express, only 10 aligners or less are usually needed to correct these minor issues, bringing full treatment time down to about three to six months. Dr. Chantry can tell you if this treatment would be appropriate for your circumstances.

Invisalign Teen®

teen with braces smilingDr. Chantry is also a provider of Invisalign Teen, an Invisalign system specially tailored to the clinical needs of teenagers. This treatment can be performed on any teen whose permanent teeth have fully erupted.

Invisalign Teen is considered to be as effective as traditional braces for resolving most orthodontic issues, and the treatment time is about the same as for conventional metal braces. Dr. Chantry can determine if your teen is a candidate for this special Invisalign treatment after a comprehensive exam and evaluation.

Conditions Invisalign Can Correct

Invisalign treatment can effectively fix a wide variety of problems with teeth and bite alignment, from mild cases of crooked teeth to more difficult and serious issues. Here are some of the main conditions Invisalign can correct:

  • Crowded teethInvisalign Clear Teeth Straightening

This occurs when there is too little room for all the teeth to fit properly. When left untreated, crowded teeth can cause decay, prevent normal tooth function and increase the chances for gum disease.

  • OverbiteInvisalign Clear Teeth Straightening

With an overbite, the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. This can cause gum irritation, chipped or fractured front teeth, worn lower teeth, and jaw joint problems.

  • UnderbiteInvisalign Clear Teeth Straightening

This is a condition where the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth. This can lead to tooth wear by preventing the normal function of the front teeth or molars. It can also cause painful difficulties with the jaw joints.

  • Gaps or spaces in teethInvisalign Clear Teeth Straightening

This usually occurs because of abnormal continued growth of the jawbone. It can also be caused by teeth shifting due to a missing tooth. Food and bacteria are easily trapped in gaps, which increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

  • Open biteInvisalign Clear Teeth Straightening

This is a condition where the upper and lower teeth don’t touch each other, even when the mouth is closed. An open bite can cause poor or painful chewing, speech impairment and difficulties with the jaw joint.

  • CrossbiteInvisalign Clear Teeth Straightening

With a crossbite, one or more of the upper teeth bite on the inside of the lower teeth. This can happen on the front and/or the sides of the mouth, and can lead to tooth wear, gum disease and bone loss.

Patient Testimonial

“Dr. Chantry is always so nice and he actually cares about his patients.”

“Dr. Chantry is always so nice and he actually cares about his patients. All the staff are great.

“When I wanted to get straighter teeth I was 18. I didn’t want to have braces, so Dr. Chantry suggested Invisalign clear aligners. I liked this because the aligners weren’t noticeable and I could take them out whenever I wanted to.

“I am glad I got them done here because the staff was always very nice. They answered any questions I ever had. The whole process was very quick and I only had to have Invisalign for a few months. My teeth are just as straight as they would have been if I had braces, but I didn’t have to deal with the embarrassment of them. I am glad I had the opportunity to get them here.”
